Mauritius brings together talented musicians and singers, through its strong musical culture. The Tamarin Hotel embraces this sharing and discovery concept by organizing concerts that bring together different artists from the island on the same stage. The hotel has been fortunate to have, every Thursday, the presence of Ernest Wiehe, a former professor of the Berkeley School of Music in Boston. This longtime friend, he brought Jazz in his luggage on the way back to his native island. Since his loss, his musicians have taken over. Enjoy discovering a fascinating universe that transcribes coziness, accuracy and freedom in a truly exotic atmosphere.
During your stay, you will have the opportunity to meet our various groups of artists; from Monday to Sunday, with the exception of Tuesday when there is the typical Sega, as from 20:30. Meet different styles of Jazz; from Swing to Bebop through Modern Jazz, Bossa-Nova, Funky and Soul.
An amateur or a novice, whoever you are, you are welcome!
